Transport Logistic 2017

Transport Logistic 2017

After two years ZSSK CARGO reappeared at the Transport Logistic 2017 exhibition in Munich. Our company had its stand in one of the major halls and, also thanks to this advantageous location, the ZSSK CARGO exhibition stand was a place where numerous meetings and business dealings took place.

The Transport Logistic 2017 exhibition reported a record number of exhibitors and visitors. 2162 exhibitors from 62 countries presented themselves at the world trade fair. During four days the organizers recorded over 60 thousand visitors from 120 countries. The area of the exhibition site rose by 115 thousand square meters, compared to the previous year. 17 national stands were present in Munich. This year the Slovak Republic had its own stand for the first time where representatives of Slovak logistics and forwarding companies were present.

Slovak national day

The SARIO agency (The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency), which acted as an umbrella organisation for the activities of the Slovak stand, organised an event called the Slovak national day on May 11, 2017. At the event representatives of the Slovak Ministry of Finance and the Slovak Ministry of Transport and Construction, the Slovak Forwarding and Logistics Association, the Railways of the Slovak Republic, ports, airports and ZSSK CARGO presented themselves. A number of presentations were aimed at promoting the so-called New Silk Road. It leads from several Chinese regions over three rail corridors (the northern corridor through Russia and Poland, the central corridor through Kazakhstan, and the southern corridor through Iran and Turkey) to Europe, and forms a belt of cooperating countries from Western Europe as far as Eastern China.

The new silk road should facilitate a transport connection between Asia and Europe (as well as Africa), thus enhancing their mutual business and economic cooperation. Slovakia seeks to ensure that some of the new trade routes run over its rail corridors, involving the transshipment yards located at the Slovak-Ukrainian border, where 1435 mm and 1520 mm gauges meet.
